This blog has moved! Find it here!
Feeling: tired and ok (ok is a big thing for me right now)
Expecting: to craft today
Hoping: that the worst is over
Wishing: the people of Japan would find comfort and safety right now
Excited for: the potential of an entire weekend with my honey
Dreaming: of an off-white book shelf and two gorgeous patterned cozy chairs for our living room
Sad about: how hard life can be for all of us and how hard I can be on myself
Happy about: all the flowers around the house and the two cute puppies next sleeping next to me
Planning: to cook a lot more
Waiting: for Ronald to be done with school (June seems so far away)
Yesterday I went thrifting with my sister and her mother-in law (who is a dear friend). It was so much fun and I found some awesome/creepy/wonderful vintage things. Here are my favorites...(Sorry these pictures are kind of horrible, there is no sun today).
Vintage scottie dog and mirrored perfume tray. dog .59 cents, tray $3.99
Very tame and sweet faced lion (for the babies room) $5.99
Vintage insulators. $6 total for both
Ducks, and a brass cup to use as a vase $3 for all
A very sad/sweet horse that is all chipped but I had to buy because I think he needed me. ;) $1.99
An extremelly timid rabbit. .59 cents
These are my absolute favorites.
Happy spring chick. .59 cents
Super cute deer book (originally .29 cents!). .98 cents
I love these Harry the dog books. .98 cents
cute learn to read book. $1.99
So donkey cute! (ok enough of that...) .50 cents
I thought this animal drawing book would look awesome with the pages framed for the babies room. $1.00
Mint condition playing cards in the original box! They are floral printed so I thought I could use them for a collage or something... $4.99
Awesome Swedish looking candle holder. Totally can imagine this being at Ikea... $1.00
Cute little prints in awesome frames. $1.99 for all
Vintage needlepoints. $2.99 for both
Super wonky but cute vintage doll. $3.99
Cute candle holder. $1.00
These have to be my creepiest find. A weird couple, maybe old Russian or Turkish style? The guy reminds me of Vlad the Impaler. $5.99 for both
The reason I had to have them was because of his pom pom shoes and how he has painted on stockings and garters! That just kills me!
Awesome chippy chicken tray. $4.99
Cute shadow boxes that need a good cleaning and paint job. $5 for both
I think I hit the jackpot! Also, I think I like some very weird things. I can't wait to clean all my finds up and set them out!
I also got some vintage clothes for Ronald and I and two more rabbit figurines, including an adorable gentlemen rabbit in a top hat! I will have to show you those later...
This is part of my stack of books that I have set out in the living room. I have stacks of books and journals every which way around our house, it can be a bit overwhelming.
I also have a copy of Love in the Time of Cholera that I am wanting to read again. Plus I have my ipad which has a few books including DH Lawrence's Women in Love (another second time read), The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath (a fourth time read), a book on knitting, Buddhism for Dummies, You Having a Baby, and a bunch more. I love reading and miss taking more time to do it.
I also did some yoga yesterday evening. Just a few relaxing poses and am hoping to do more tonight. It is nice to add some new things to my routine.
1. My life was free of nightmares.
2. Daffodils stayed fresh and fragrant for weeks instead of days.
3. I had a nudibranch.
4. My tummy felt better and not so anxious.
5. Our house was fully painted.
I was a dog, so lazy and always in a fur coat.
I had more time to read, after only a few pages I seem to fall asleep.
I went on more nature walks with my camera.
I had a cleaner house and that the laundry would fold itself.
I could drink booze tonight.
I could lose weight quicker, and not be tempted by birthday cupcakes in the kitchen.
